About This Test
This test looks at the tiny markers in your bird DNA that reveal whether it carries the pattern for male (ZZ) or female (ZW). It is a simple and dependable method used by many breeders and owners who want answers long before visual clues appear.

Sample Type
A tiny amount of blood on a triangle piece of coffee filter, printer paper or paper towel.
The sample dries quickly, travels well, and keeps the DNA stable for testing in our homestead lab.

Turnaround Time
Most results are ready the next day after your samples arrive at Little Haven DNA. Please allow up to 72 hours in case the lab is busy or samples arrive late in the day.
You will receive an email as soon as your samples are logged into the system. Using a shipping method with tracking is recommended so you can see when your envelope reaches the lab.
