Project variety notice: These are developing project varieties. Our current hatches have not produced smoky or other unusual chick colors, but genetics can surprise us, so no specific chick color is guaranteed.
You will receive a variety of blue eggs and light-to-dark green eggs, with some appearing very dark brown. Eggs may or may not have bloom or speckles. Olive Eggers will not necessarily lay the same color egg from which they hatched because the egg you receive shows only half of the chick's genetics. There is no guarantee what color eggs a resulting hen will lay.
All Ameraucanas are DNA tested free of recessive white and are homozygous for the blue egg gene. Every chick hatched from these eggs is guaranteed to carry at least one copy of the blue egg gene.
Hatching egg policy: Hatching eggs involve risk. There are no refunds or reshipments for failed hatches. Shipping dates may be delayed if fertility rates drop or the hens slow down in laying.
Silver-based Ermine roosters paired with black, white, and Ermine hens. Chicks may hatch Ermine, black, white, or Dominant White. Dominant White is not showable per ARBA because it has pink legs rather than slate.
Lavender roosters paired with Lavender Ermine, lavender-split black, and lavender-split Dominant White hens. These pairings support the development of Lavender Ermine Ameraucanas and related lavender-based colors.
A rooster homozygous for the blue egg gene, with genetics selected for a rich dark overlay, is paired with dark-laying Black Copper Marans and selected Olive Egger hens. The goal is to produce hens with a variety of plumage colors—not only black birds—that lay a broad range of olive-toned eggs, including eggs with blooms and speckles.
